Case reports highlight unique cases of human patients in acute care surgery and trauma, who have an unexpected diagnosis, treatment outcomes, or clinical history. Peer-reviewed case reports have a word limit of 2,000 and a maximum of 4 display elements (figures or tables). Abstract should be 150 words max.  A maximum of 10 authors is allowed: additional authors may be listed in the acknowledgements. The CAse REport (CARE) Guidelines (https://www.care-statement.org/writing-a-case-report) should be followed and authors should include a completed CARE checklist as a supplementary file (found at https://www.care-statement.org/checklist).
